Varha app accessibility statement
The Wellbeing Services County of Southwest Finland aims to ensure the accessibility of its digital services in accordance with the Act on the Provision of Digital Services 306/2019. This accessibility statement applies to the Varha app, https://testi.digi.varha.fi/. The accessibility of the service has been assessed by an external expert organisation.
App accessibility status
The Varha app partially meets the requirements of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG), version 2.1, for levels A and AA.
Non-accessible content of the app
Success Criterion 1.1.1 – Non-text Content
- The service includes some images and graphic symbols without text alternatives. Some graphical symbols are not hidden by default from screen readers.
Success Criterion 1.3.1 – Info and Relationships
- There are some issues with the use of HTML header levels.
Success Criterion 1.4.10 – Reflow
- The service has some issues with reflow when scaling pages.
Success Criterion 1.4.3 – Contrast (Minimum)
- Some sections with low contrast have been observed.
- Some sections with low contrast between the text and background have been observed.
Success Criterion 2.4.7 – Focus Visible
- Visual alignment is lacking in some of the service’s UI components.
Success Criterion 3.2.2 – On Input
- There are some links redirecting the user to a downloadable file without any prior warning.
Success Criterion 4.1.2 – Name, Role, Value
- There are some unnamed buttons or buttons whose functionality has not been clearly described for those using assistive technologies.
Success Criterion 4.1.3 – Status Messages -The UI does not always provide sufficient information about the success of actions to assistive technologies. In addition, some forms use automatic speech input instead of leaving it to assistive technology.
